While the world defrosts from the shock of legendary singer/actress Whitney Houston, attention is drawn to her behavior just days before her passing.  Houston’s death comes on Saturday, the eve of the Grammys and on the night of Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala, at which she performed last year and was expected to attend this year.

This past Thursday, Houston appeared at a pre-Grammy gala rehersal disheveled in mismatched clothes and hair that was dripping wet with either sweat or water. The singer appeared to be bloated and  displayed erratic behavior throughout the afternoon — flailing her hands as she spoke to Brandy and Monica, skipping around the ballroom in a child-like fashion and wandering aimlessly about the lobby. It was mentioned by a Grammy staffer that security personnel received calls of the singer doing handstands by the pool.

After leaving rehearsals, Houston returned to the ballroom — with her teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina in tow — as camera crews set up for interviews. Press reports the renowned singer smelled of alcohol and cigarettes. A Grammy staffer said that during the interviews with Brandy, Monica-who were slated to perform their new single- and Clive, Houston was dancing just off camera to make the singers and Davis laugh. Grammy personnel expressed concern that she’d be caught on camera, and that reporters would write about her behavior.

Finally her daughter pulled Houston out of the room, and the singer skipped off.

While this behavior is immediately drawing criticism and speculation while the world waits on the results from Houston’s autopsy, there has been a mad rush to view what was her last performance…~~~~~>http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7398416n, a duet with Kelly Price, while other sources say Houston performed a brief duet with Prince was the final performance.

Her cause of death remains unknown as of the time of this article, but as more info becomes available I’ll be updating…

TMZ reports that Houston was found underwater as if she slid down in while in the tub, suggesting she drowned, but until that is confirmed, I’ll keep you informed..

Bobby Brown, off performing at New Edition’s Reunion show, attempted to continue performing after the news:

As Stan Bell, the DJ of 97.1 FM in Memphis, TN, introduced the featured group , New Edition, he first let the crowd know that Bobby Brown was in the building. He also stated that Bobby said that he is about to give the best performance of his life. After Stan’s announcement, everyone immediately started chanting “BOBBY, BOBBY”. Bobby seemed to do well at the beginning of the show but later as New Edition prepared to perform the song ‘Home Again‘, his tears began to flow. Unable to begin his verse of the song, Bobby took a moment to try to gather himself. The other members, some getting emotional themselves, consoled their brother and waited patiently. After finally performing his verse in the song, Bobby walks off the stage in tears pointing at the sky in memory of Whitney Houston.

Bobby soon returned to the stage reminding the fans that “Tomorrow is not promised, but today is forever.”

Hopefully Whitney will be remembered for the legend she was more than the troubled soul she became….
